CBSE Helper

Privacy & Terms

CBSE Helper is in its beta phase. Thank you for being one of our first users — we're always striving to improve. There's a small reward waiting for anyone who reads all the way to the end.

1. What this is

CBSE Helper is a study tool that estimates how a CBSE examiner would mark a handwritten answer, following the board's published evaluation guidelines. It is a practice aid built by a student, not an official product of the Central Board of Secondary Education, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the board in any way.

2. What we store

We store the email address you sign in with, the questions and answers you submit for marking, the marking schemes generated for them, and any profile details you choose to add. Profile details — your name, class, age, nationality and gender — are private and visible only to you when you are signed in.

Photographs you upload are processed only to read the handwriting in them. They are not shared with anyone, not sold, and not used for any purpose other than producing your grade.

3. The public question bank

Questions you grade may appear in the shared, public question bank so that other students can see what kinds of questions have been asked. When they do, they appear anonymously: only the question text, its subject, class and mark total are shown. Your name, your email, your written answer, and your score are never shown in the public bank.

4. How marking works, and its limits

For each question, the app first generates a step-by-step marking scheme from the question alone, before it looks at your answer. It then marks your answer against that scheme, one step at a time. This mirrors how the board awards marks: method marks separately from the final answer, half-marks where the board uses them, and error-carried-forward so a single mistake is penalised only once.

Because it is an estimate produced by software, it can be wrong. It may misread messy handwriting, misjudge an unusual but valid method, or split marks differently from the exact scheme your teacher uses. Treat its output as a guide to where your marks tend to go, not as a prediction of your real exam score. Always defer to your teacher and the official marking scheme.

5. Your data and your rights

You can request deletion of your account and everything associated with it at any time by emailing the address below. We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not show third-party advertising. We keep your data only as long as your account exists.

6. Rate limits and fair use

To keep the service available to everyone and to control costs, there is a limit on how many answers you can grade per hour. If you hit it, you'll be asked to wait a short while. Automated or abusive use of the service may result in your access being restricted.

7. Content standards

Questions submitted to the public bank pass through a basic language filter. Please keep submissions academic and appropriate. Content that is offensive, off-topic, or unrelated to studying may be removed, and repeated misuse may result in loss of access.

8. Age

CBSE Helper is intended for school students, including those under 18. We deliberately collect as little as possible, keep profile details private, and never show personal information publicly. If you are using a school or family email, make sure you have permission to do so.

9. Changes to these terms

As this is an actively developing beta, these terms may change as features are added or adjusted. Significant changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Contact

For anything at all — data deletion, a bug, a question about how something works, or just to say hello — email nirbavsankar831@gmail.com. It's one person reading, so be patient, but every message is read.
